The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, carried out an ambush against Israeli military forces east of Khan Yunis, resulting in casualties and the destruction of military vehicles, according to a statement from the group.

The attack took place on Al-Awda Street, in the Al-Farahin area, where an Israeli vehicle triggered a minefield, leading to the detonation and reported injuries. Following the explosion, Palestinian fighters launched mortar rounds, targeting Israeli forces in the vicinity.

According to reports, the operation ended with Israeli forces evacuating the area via helicopters, while a damaged military transport was removed from the scene.

The incident comes amid ongoing heavy clashes in southern Gaza, with intense fighting reported in Khan Yunis and the demolition of buildings in Rafah as part of Israel’s wider military campaign in the enclave.
